2022 Dodge Challenger Demon – Introduced to the old platform borrowed from Mercedes-Benz, the Current Dodge Challenger is more than just old gear.
However, thanks to high-performance versions such as the Hellcat and Demon, the Challenger remains relevant and even became the second best-selling sports coupe in the US, behind the Ford Mustang but in front of a much newer Chevrolet Camaro.

A redesign is underway, and the FCA is preparing major changes to the signage. form the pillar on which the muscle car performance altar is built. Of the three, Challenger is the oldest school. It’s a large, heavy coupe that feels big and heavy from behind the wheel, and is powered by your choice for a not-so-large engine.

Challenger is currently available with a choice of four petrol engines. The base model comes with the FCA’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and produces 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. Power increases when you choose the 5.7-liter V-8, which produces 375 horses and 410 pound-feet.
Climb the trim ladder, and the Challenger is available with the larger 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. It’s the naturally most powerful sucked offering with 485 horsepower and a 475-pound-foot spin.
Lastly, there’s the supercharged, 6.2-liter, Hemi, V-8 that pumps 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque in the SRT Hellcat model. Then there’s the upgraded setup of the same engine for the SRT Demon, where the 6.2-liter unit produces 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet. The devil is not legal on the street.
One thing to note here is that, unlike the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, the Dodge Challenger is not available with a four-cylinder engine.
What We Expect in DODGE CHALLENGER 2022
While we don’t know what the next generation 2022 Challenger looks like, I’m definitely going to be lighter. That’s large because the FCA will drop the old Daimler-Benz platform that makes almost all challenger versions weigh more than 4,000 pounds.
which is the base model, which weighs more than 3,800 pounds, the V-8 model weighs up to 4,469 pounds, with the heavier model being the Hellcat.
And this number is a bit painful when compared to the competition. While the Mustang currently rises to 3,800 pounds, the heaviest Camaro weighs 3,760 pounds. The very worrying thing is that the Challenger is actually as heavy as the usual BMW 7 Series wheelbase. We’re talking about a full-size sedan packed with technology here!
To stay competitive, Challenger needs to go on a great diet and lose weight under 3,500 pounds. Higher-performing models also need to weigh less than 4,000 pounds. In fact, to add electric motors and batteries, the FCA needs to push the benchmark well below 3,800 pounds, since hybrid systems are typically heavier than gas-specific drivetrains.
In addition to the new lighter platform, Dodge also needs to adopt a lighter material for the body and suspension. While carbon fiber may be too expensive for an affordable sports coupe, carbon-reinforced plastics are not. BMW has used it with great success over the years, and I see no reason why the FCA doesn’t use it.
It’s safe to say that Dodge will add a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to the lineup. The turbocharged unit can be a lightweight hybrid if paired with the 48-volt eTorque system the FCA already offers in Ram 1500 trucks. The system is already paired with the Pentastar V-6 in the same truck and Dodge can also use it.

As for the higher-performance version, Dodge will most likely drop the V-8 and support the twin-turbo V-6. The forcibly fed V-6 factory is known to produce more than 400 horsepower and adding a powerful electric motor to the mix can push the total output closer to 600 horsepower. Sure, Dodge may store the V-8 for range-topping models, but it will be sold in very limited quantities.
The twin-turbo V-8 is not entirely impossible, but the restrictions on incoming emissions make it much more difficult to implement.
Challenger is not a tough guy. The ride is quite comfortable, even when you choose a model with a sportier suspension setting. Most advanced driving aids are currently available here, including blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. And challenger comes with a Uconnect Dodge infotainment interface.
Although this challenger generation has been massaged and altered over the years, its bones have been around since 2008. Unless Dodge surprises us with a fully redesigned Challenger, we expect the 2022 model to come close to last year’s offering. If you like what Dodge sells, there’s no reason not to consider the Dodge Challenger 2021.
Dodge’s big muscle car is a trunk to drive, even if it doesn’t feel as sharp as a Mustang or Camaro. Dodge doesn’t update challengers significantly often, so we think buyers will be well served by the 2021 model.

we hope that the next generation Challenger will not arrive before arriving earlier than 2022. We’ll probably see some sort of concept car in 2020 and a production model by the end of 2021. and the price does not differ much from the previous variant ie Starting from $ 30,000 (approximate).
