2021 Dodge Charger Widebody Engine

With the same 707-HP V-8 engine under the hood sculpted as a Hellcat past model, the new widebody edition may not be faster in a straight line, but the extra-wide bodywork hides a wider front and rear track and a number of suspension upgrades are intended to improve the handling of the sedan.

The new price represents a $2150 price increase over the last year’s tight Charger SRT Hellcat, but we anticipate improved handling should be worth the coin.

A smaller charger model can be obtained only by $31,390, although that price will only get buyers of basic SXT models with a V-6 3.6-liter engine and Rear-wheel drive. The GT started at $33,390, and the V-8 powered R/T kicks off at $37,890. The scat Pack model where the performance kicks up notches, and the standard scat Pack model costs $41,490; widebody upgrades are available on car droppings Pack as well and add $6000 to the bottom line of that car.

The widebody adds 3.5 inches of overall width to a large sedan thanks to an integrated Spatdrill flare. Of course, you also get a beefier suspension and brake to go along with additional tires, along with some software tricks like line locks, launch control and help launches.

Hellcat Widebody’s upgrade car is a quarter-mile time drops with just over eight-tenths of a second, according to Dodge, from 11.8 seconds to 10.96 seconds. Dodge said the 0-60 mph run was sent in just 3.6 seconds and stopped from 60 mph taking 107 feet.

Their number puts a wide sedan in a distance spitting 797-HP Challenger Redeye, which claims a quarter-mile time of 10.8 seconds and 0-60 mph run from 3.4 seconds.

The R/T scat Pack widebody gets all the same upgrades, making the time 0-60 from 4.3 seconds and 12.4-second quarter-mile.

2021 Dodge Charger Widebody Competition

At the price point of the Hellcat Charger, it essentially has no competition. The Cadillac CTS-V is the closest high-powered sedan on the performance/cost spectrum, but that car will be a dodo road. In addition, if you want Whiplash-inducing crude acceleration in a vehicle suitable for a family of four, you will need to exit significant cash. Like more than one hundred Grand.

We don’t have the price for the charger Hellcat widebody yet, but we expect the package to knock it by about $6,000, as in Challenger. That would put the 2021 charger Hellcat widebody around $73,300. So for the upgrade price too, say, an M5, you can also take Miata for the weekend.
