2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat USA Review

2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat USA Review

2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat USA Review – The name Hellcat brings up the image of tire smoke and drags racing, and the ultra-powerful version of the muscle car Dodge Challenger lives up to that expectation. The supercharged standard 6.2-liter V-8 engine-available with either 717 horsepower or a crazy 797 horsepower in the Redeye model-is the whole reason Hellcat is in existence. Both automatic and manual-transmission models are offered.

Go for a stick-shifting for more driver involvement and automatically if you want Hellcat to be the fastest possible. The straight line of speed is the power of Hellcat; Because it is bigger and heavier than the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, it does not handle angles too and will not go around the racetrack quickly. But if you’re looking for max strength and thrust, look no further.

All the Hellcats get a new standard and optional 20-inch wheel design. Inside, there is a new one that is a Hellcat SRT in the Instrument Panel, and a model equipped with an additional leather interior stitching features for the dashboard panels and doors.

The widebody version both handles better and looks cooler, so that’s what we’ve chosen. But despite the fact that Hellcat is all about excess, we wouldn’t opt for the Redeye version that brings the extra horsepower to the party. In our testing, Redeye is not faster than the HELLCAT standard because the tires cannot put the extra snorting to the ground.

2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Horsepower

The mad scientists at the lab of SRT Dodge drew Samuel L. Jackson and went all the old agreements with the Hellcat omnipotent engine. The standard Setup makes “just ” 717 horsepower, and the version in Redeye pumps out 797 horses. Paired with an optional eight-speed automatic packet and widebody, our test cars are on for 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and finishing a quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds at 125 mph.

We have driven some of the Hellcats and-as expected-not Never had trouble entering an endless power supply. However, launching difficult animals set straight and true is an exercise in extreme car control. Each model has a malicious growl on startup that builds into Hell Melil under the heavy throttle. The different Hellcat whining supercharger will send a shiver down your spine, either from fear or excitement – and most likely both.

These high-performance challengers may not have a remarkable track attack, but they are quick once in a straight line and simply handle the winding path backward — provided your right foot knows when to let go. Although the widebody package adds a wider wheel and tire to more handles, it does not convince us that it is ready to be angled with Shelby GT350 or Camaro ZL1.

The Dodge widebody is arranged on the boundary, but electrically assisted power steering (HELLCAT regular has a hydraulic system) is still slow to react and does not provide subtle feedback from Track-focused rivals. Instead, switching between three steering settings feels more like choosing between varying numbness levels. However, the Hellcats made an extraordinary pace between angles, so that their powerful Brembo brakes would get a great workout.

The Challenger interior was redesigned for the 2015 year model with driver-centric layouts, direct switchgear, and better materials. The SRT Twin has standard leather finery, and heated and ventilated front seats. Although the cab is airy, the plastic still looks cheap, and the visibility backward is poor.

Despite having the same luggage volume as the BMW M4, Dodge held two Carry-ons in the trunk (six) and impress 15 with a back seat kept-three over GT350. None of our cars tested especially adept at storing small items, but the Challenger has at least a large center-console bin, and there is a handy slot for fixed smartphones.

2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Features

Both models boast the UConnect Infotainment system which is easy to use and filled with features. It includes navigation, ‘ Stereo Bumpin’, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The standard 8.4-inch touchscreen is a great useful and feature icon that can be easily selected with a finger. There is a volume knob and tuning for fast audio system adjustments. While the navigation responds quickly to the inputs with a big screen keyboard, the map graph looks old fashioned and cartoony.
