The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon earned a place in the history books as the most powerful muscle car in the world and the fastest production car in the world, with a time of 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.3 seconds.

The supercharged 6.2-liter 840 hp (626 kW / 851 PS) engine is also the most powerful V8 in a production car and allowed the Demon to break the quarter-mile 9.65-second record time at 140 mph (225 km/h). ).

The Demon’s output drops to 900 hp and 810 lb-ft on premium fuel. It detects the fuel level and mixture and tunes everything automatically for the best power delivery.

It comes with 315 mm wide Mickey Thompson ET Street R 17-inch radial drag tires, which were never previously offered on production cars, and thinner but safe Mickey Thompson 245 mm 18-inch ET Street front tires.

The optional carbon fiber wheels are the same size and save nearly 12 pounds at the rear compared to the standard Challenger Redeye Widebody configuration. The front wheels keep a total of 20.12 pounds from the front.

Carbon fiber wheels decrease vehicles’ mass without springs, improving handling, acceleration, and braking.

Other weight reductions include lightweight front brakes, hollow sway bars, removal of passenger and rear seats, trunk trim and noise, vibration and hardness pads (NVH), and lightweight interior carpeting with a minimal audio system.

The removal of the front beacon resulted in a weight saving of 16 pounds. In all, about 157 pounds can be expended.

The Challenger Demon 170 has three driving modes, including Auto, Custom, and Drag, all of which change transmission parameters, gearshift paddles, traction control, suspension, and steering.

Drag mode allows full power based on ethanol content and the fastest displacement of the steering wheel paddles, while traction, steering, and suspension controls are tuned for the race.

SRT Performance Pages on the infotainment screen display reaction time data and 0-60 driver time, gauge information, g-force numbers, engine performance information, and dynamometer horsepower and torque statistics.

Production of the 2024 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will begin this summer and will be limited to around 3,300 units, with 3,000 for the U.S. and 300 for Canada.

The final unit number would be based on production capacity. The price is $96,666, excluding purpose and handling.

As the pinnacle of Dodge’s SRT lineup, the Demon 170 represents the pinnacle of more than a century of automotive excellence.

With its unparalleled performance and striking design, this vehicle will leave a lasting impression on enthusiasts and collectors alike.

However, the end of the Demon 170 also signals a new beginning for Dodge, as the brand looks to the future with the development of electric muscle cars.

The upcoming electric Challenger is expected to surpass the performance of its gasoline-powered predecessor, ushering in a new era of high-performance, eco-friendly vehicles for the iconic American automaker.
