2022 Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye Price

2022 Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye – Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye 2022 becomes the most powerful factory Charger in its class. And, a big surprise, it’s the most expensive Charger in the lineup, with a base price of $80,090 including a goal fee of $1,495.

That’s also a $2,000 premium over the Challenger Hellcat Redeye, so you’re arguably paying $1,000 per extra door. But can you put a price on the satisfaction of sharing 797 horsepower with your friends?

Prices for the other 2022 Charger lineups are also out. Only three models saw price increases: the R/T, Scat Pack, and Scat Pack Widebody. R/T goes up by $500, Scat Pack for $600, and Scat Pack Widebody for $100.

Dodge will offer the Dodge Charger Hellcat in redeye form, and really, it’s about time. Consider this, before today, the Hellcat Charger (or Hellcat Widebody Charger) is already the fastest and most powerful production sedan on the market, so it should come as no surprise that adding another 80 horsepower and 57 lb-ft of torque, and a new top speed of 203 miles per hour only further cements the award.

Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye Engine

To enable such advantages, some important changes were made to the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8: first, the 2.4-liter IHI supercharger was replaced by a larger 2.7-liter sample. This results in more thrust as well — 14.5 psi compared to 11.6 psi — then the red line increases from 6,200 to 6,500 rpm; to take advantage of all that air.

Redeye needs more fuel too, so instead of one double-stage fuel pump, Redeye gets two; finally, the Redeye engine has stronger rods and pistons, better oil capabilities, and a more powerful valvetrain. the mail slot grille and the cold air intake glued near the wheel liner on the Redeye Charger allow 18 percent more airflow over normal Hellcat engines. All those changes translate to a total output of 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque.

Not helping in getting all the Power Of The Redeye Chargers to the ground is the standard tire all season. Summer tires, which should be mandatory with this much power, are available as an option. Large tires on 20-inch wheels with an 11-inch width shrouded in burly fender flares gave Redeye a menacing look, in addition to their obvious performance advantages.

Beefier axle and reinforced drive shaft provide increased torque capacity by 20 percent and 15 percent, respectively. Aiding the spread of heat, the SRT Power Chiller utilizes the car’s A/C by diverting the coolant to the exchanger where the engine intake air is cooled by an additional 45 degrees.

Dodge said it expects Redeye to do a quarter of a mile in 10.6 seconds at 129 miles per hour, even though it’s on a sticky, ready drag-strip surface. In our testing, in road conditions, that seemed unlikely, as we expected the tires at Redeye would be quickly overwhelmed by wheelspin. The best we can get out of the Challenger Redeye is a run of 11.8 seconds 1/4 mile at 125 mph.

Even if the Hellcat Redeye Charger, which only comes in widebody form, does better zero-to-6o-mph time or 1/4 mile than a normal Hellcat Charger, it’s still the only sedan in production with nearly 800 horsepower and four doors. And it will still do epic burnouts and lay beatings on many lighter and more expensive cars.

Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye Horsepower

Thanks to Dodge, a 700 horsepower car is not as rare as it used to be. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (Dodge’s parent company) sold five models with the company’s supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 version above that high threshold. One of the latest transplant recipients is the 2022 Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye, a nostalgic and excess 797-hp speedball.

The Hellcat 707 hp charger already exists, but what makes this version special is the extra 90 horsepower Redeye engine. To generate great power, Redeye has a larger 2.7-liter screw-type supercharger that produces a 14.5 psi thrust. Regular Hellcat does it with a 2.4-liter supercharger and an 11.6 psi boost. Redeye’s red line is also higher, 6,500 rpm compared to 6,200 rpm, and to feed the beast properly, it has two fuel pumps instead of one.

Somewhat predictably, we averaged 13 mpg. Internal changes include stronger connecting rods and pistons, powerful valvetrains, and improved oil capabilities. To survive, the Redeye drivetrain also receives reinforced components, including, according to Dodge, a 15 percent stronger driveshaft and a 20 percent stronger shaft.

Charger Hellcat Redeye Top Speed

On the track, the Hellcat Redeye Charger proved to be the fastest rear-wheel-drive Hellcat variant we’ve ever tested. It was hammered up to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, three tenths faster than the last Challenger Hellcat Redeye we tested, and only a tenth of the acceleration of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

Patience and a smooth right foot are needed to avoid turning Pirellis Redeye into fusilli. Roll carefully into the throttle, avoid matting until the transmission shifts to seconds, and it is possible to defeat the Redeye launch control system. The century mark takes just 7.5 seconds to reach, a decent supercar time for a 4,654-pound sedan.

Keep the accelerator pinned, and Redeye reached the quarter-mile mark in 11.5 seconds at 126 mph, just two tenths behind the 483-pound gt500 lighter 11.3 times at 132 mph. On a hot day, Redeye’s SRT Power Chiller, an A/C evaporator that is dissociated into the intercooler, will reduce the intake temperature by the claimed 40 degrees. In 70 to zero mph braking, redeye is better than a Hellcat Widebody Charger that was previously tested with seven feet with a car-like stop that was almost sports-car 155 feet.

Choose the Normal suspension setting, and the ride remains on the rigid side of the daily driver. Switching to a more aggressive setting takes you straight to the bouncing, hard territory. The feel of the steering wheel is not a Charger’s powerful suit, although that effort increases as you move from the middle. Widebody means wide tire, and a 305-part wide tire provides a 0.93 g grip on the skidpad, which corresponds to the same Hellcat Charger.

The Charger offers a Carbon and Suede Interior Package ($1,595) that adds an Alcantara headliner, as well as carbon fiber accents that surround almost the entire dashboard and the area around the gear picker. Instrument panels are wrapped in leather, and door panels have soft-touch materials and more leather.

Leather seats like the BarcaLounger are quite comfortable over long distances, but the Dodge puts them high from the floor, at a height that is almost like a crossover. A more aggressive seat would better suit Redeye’s potential. Cars with this much horsepower usually have more Le Mans seats than La-Z-Boy.

Now that all Hellcat-powered Chargers come with fender-flared widebody, there’s little to distinguish Redeye. Spotters should look for larger hood spoons and relocated vents flanking the spoon.

In addition to the hood, there is a bedazzled gem in the eye of the Hellcat logo that serves as another warning to anyone lining up next to you in the light. There is real excitement in the car that turns every red light into a potential race. Driving to the office is silly, fun, and exciting. This car makes you laugh. This car is special.

Avoiding fees for the experience. The total price of our test car came out for an eye-watering $90,060. Provide some options such as our Harman/Kardon 19 test car audio system ($1,995), navigation and XM radio ($995), sunroof power ($1,995), and black brake caliper ($595), and the price is still high but a little less painful at $82,885.
